Hey, I'm Ben,

I grew up here in the Wairarapa and my introduction to chiropractic came through sustaining a back injury whilst participating in Tae kwon Do at age 15. Seeing a chiropractor helped me out so much and got me back on my feet right away and this had a real impact on me. I decided to pursue a career in this field to help others in the same way it had helped me.

  • I graduated from the New Zealand College of Chiropractic in 2008, and after starting and working out of two practices in Auckland for almost 10 years, the opportunity arose for me to come home with my wife Monique to take over Field Chiropractic Clinic, which had been in operation by Terry Field for almost 40 years.

I am really grateful to continue the great service Terry provided to the community while also adding in my own style as well. We have since rebranded the practice to ‘Wairarapa Chiropractic’.

I make it a priority to attend seminars and conferences to keep up to date with the latest developments in chiropractic research and techniques so that I can continue to provide the best and most effective care possible for our patients. I’m proficient in both Activator (instrument-delivered) and manual (more ‘hands on’) chiropractic techniques.

I am really loving being home and part of the community again, and love that we are raising our two boys Sebastian and Max here in the Wairarapa where I had to privilege to grow up.

Look forward to meeting you soon,

    Ben

Hi, I’m Jo.

Every school holiday, when I was young, my mum would take my brother and I for regular chiropractic check-ups to keep us functioning at our best. While I didn’t fully understand at first, I started to learn that chiropractic was about looking to the cause of things like headaches or back pain, rather than just treating the symptom. They do this by removing any interference to the body’s natural healing and working to help restore optimal function.

  • In high school, I decided that I would like to become a chiropractor to help others function at their very best, and started studying at Auckland University and the at the world renowned New Zealand College of Chiropractic. In 2007, I graduated with a Bachelor of Chiropractic.

I am married to Kevin, and we have three gorgeous active boys who keep us on our toes. In 2016, we moved our family to Masterton to join Wairarapa Chiropractic and are absolutely loving the more relaxed lifestyle here and the incredible community we now get to be part of.

I love being able to work with people of all different ages and stages to help them to function at their best through gentle, effective chiropractic care.

I have a special interest in helping babies and toddlers express their best health possible.

I've enjoyed teaching my boys chiropractic health principles as well as passing on this knowledge to others in our community.

It is a privilege to have been able to help so many families in the Wairarapa since joining the team, and I look to meeting you and your family soon.

    Warmest regards,

    Jo

Dr. Angus McKinnon

(B. Chiro) MNZCA
Chiropractor

Kia Ora, my name is Angus.

I grew up on a farm in a small Northland town called Dargaville. I’m an avid sports fan and grew up playing every sport I could, but my favorites were rugby and cricket. I’m a huge Northland Rugby supporter but may have to start supporting Wairarapa now that I have moved regions!

  • My first experience with chiropractic was as a child. I used to suffer from migraines and my mother tried lots of different approaches to help, but with little to no effect. Eventually she took me to a chiropractor, where I had great results. I never suffered a migraine again and was amazed at the impact this had on my life. I thought to myself, if a chiropractor can have such a tremendous impact on me in such a small amount of time, imagine the impact I could have on others if I could help people in this way. This is where my passion for chiropractic began.

I made the move to Auckland to study chiropractic. The big city was a culture shock at first, especially coming from Dargaville, but being surrounded by others with similar goals made it all worth it. I enjoyed my time in Auckland, but when considering my next move I knew it was important to get back to more of a community feel.

The Wairarapa made perfect sense for this next chapter. I am enjoying making an impact in this community and I look forward to meeting you soon!

Dr. Isaac Jones

(B. Chiro) MNZCA
Chiropractor

Kia Ora, I’m Isaac.

I was born and bred in the Wairarapa and grew up on a deer farm in West Taratahi.  Growing up I filled my weekends with trail bike riding on local tracks and helping out on our family farm.  Between these two quite physical activities, I discovered the benefits of chiropractic care early on, and found that not only did I bounce back from any injuries a lot quicker when I was being adjusted, that even my coordination on my bike seemed to improve. This planted the chiropractic seed early on for me!

  • This seed was watered a bit more, a few years later while visiting my sister who was living up in Auckland and I met Dr. Jo-anne Twiggins (who is now a chiropractor at Wairarapa Chiropractic) She really encouraged me to look at chiropractic as a career choice.  After returning home from this Auckland trip I popped into Wairarapa Chiropractic and met Dr.Ben and Mon and asked if I could spend some time in their practice observing how it ran and what being a chiropractor might look like on a day-to-day basis.  I loved it and was instantly attracted to the energy and vibe of this profession, and the way I could potentially help such a wide variety of people from all walks of life. This led me to moving to Auckland to complete the 5 years of study to become a chiropractor.  Incidentally, while I was up there, Dr Angus McKinnon (another chiropractor now at Wairarapa Chiropractic) was my intern while I was in the early years studying), so my connection back to this practice runs deep!

I have spent the last couple of years as a chiropractor on the Kāpiti coast which has been amazing. Last year I decided I wanted to be back in the Wairarapa, closer to my family and with the practice that not only inspired me be to become a chiropractor and has helped me along my chiropractic journey.  It feels great to be home!

My main goal is to empower and help the Wairarapa community towards achieving their health care goals and doing this through chiropractic with my ever-evolving toolbelt of techniques and expertise.

I am looking forward to meeting you all and becoming part of this community again.

    Ngā Mihi,

    Isaac

Dr. Louise Blair

BSc. (Syd), MChiroprac. (Macq) - MNZCA
Chiropractor

Hi, I’m Louise.

After experiencing years of painful headaches and missed time from school, a chiropractor transformed my life and set me on a new career path. I had intended on becoming a neurosurgeon, but my experience with chiropractic changed my mind.

  • I grew up in sunny Sydney and studied at the University of Sydney, and then Macquarie University. It was here that I truly understood that chiropractic care wasn’t just for pain relief.

It’s about improving the connection between brain and body. When we have optimum communication between our brain & the rest of our body, we have the best chance of functioning at our very best.

I have lived in New Zealand now for over 25 years. After realising how beautiful the weather is in the Wairarapa, my husband, Drew & I made the decision to make it our home.

I love studying and learning new information about how we can help our patients learn to utilise these amazing machines our bodies are. Since graduating, I have undertaken regular courses to continue learning, including Applied Kinesiology and nutrition.

I think it's important to give back to our communities, so I have served as the Vice President of the NZ Chiropractors’ Association and am currently serving as on the Board of Trustees for the New Zealand College of Chiropractic.

My favourite people to look after are busy women who want to grab life with both hands! If that is you, I look forward to meeting you and seeing how we can help you.

    Louise
